Teak Garden Furniture

Planning for a class reunion along close friends in school?  A birthday party for your kid or just a barbecue party to celebrate an anniversary with your friends and neighbors?  Why bother going out when you can host a party right in your own backyard?  During these times of economic distress, you could put your money where it counts most, the food.  That’s often what will make your guests happy.  As every prudent housewife or homeowner knows, you can save a lot when preparing the food right at home, rather than getting it in a restaurant or hotel.

But you can very well host a backyard party without some outdoor furniture, can you?   That’s why this early, it pays to put some investment on making your little patch of earth on the planet just as habitable for you as your any room in the house. Interior decorating is not just about your house interiors.  It also involved the grounds around it.  If you have a sizable backyard, make good use of the space by taking time to spruce it up in line with the creature comforts inside the house.  Investing in the right garden furniture is just as practical as any investment you make inside.

The Basics for Your Backyard Garden

At the very least consider investing on a set of comfortable porch seats and a table. They can be made of wrought iron and steel painted to withstand harsh weather conditions or the elements.  But nothing beats wood furniture.  And when set against the sun and nature, wood complements the ambiance.  They don’t have to be as elegant or expensive as the furniture you have indoors, though that helps.  

But precisely because these are outdoor furniture, they can be crude and less refined. In fact, some of the most rustic furniture meant for outdoors can be hewn from cut tree trunks for tables and chairs.  Even roughly sculpted stone furniture blends exquisitely with any naturalist setting.  

Among them, teak is often the preferred hardwood choice for outdoor furnishing as it contains natural resinous oils that repel insects and moistures that could lead to rot and mildews in other woods.  It also contains silica that provides a higher wood density that makes it less vulnerable to warping, shrinkage and deformity over time.  

Teak garden furniture is commonly available.  They consists basically  of tables and chairs that comes in various designs ranging from solid pieces to light ones that can even be folded out for storage inside the house.   It’s a good idea to have both, one set permanently position in a corner and a set of folded pieces if you need more to accommodate your guests.
