All Natural Outdoor Furniture Sets

Furnishing your garden can be as challenging as any home interior decorating job.  Given a tight budget, putting in the right outdoor furniture is often a balancing act that puts high consideration for construction durability and resilience under the elements sun, rain, snow and wind.   Luxury and comfort that is the primary consideration for choosing interior furnishings can take sometimes take the backseat while aesthetics and functionality carry a higher priority when choosing the right outdoor furnishing to complement your little patch of green at home.

Natural Materials

Where aesthetics are involved, take note that some of the most beautiful outdoor furniture you can have are constructed of natural materials.  These are often pine and teak garden furniture witch are heavy enough to withstand being blown away by a gust of wind and are naturally weatherproof thanks to their natural oils and high density wood that can resist warping and disfigurement when exposed to the elements.  Many are deliberately designed to look quite basic and even crude or unfinished which brings them more affinity to the pristine quality of nature.

Outside of real wood, the next best all-natural material for your garden set is wicker, particularly rattan.  They have grown in popularity as they exude an exotic touch reminiscent of exotic tropical islands in the Caribbean or Southeast Asian countries where rattan furniture are quite common.
Wicker furniture have been documented to have been used in ancient Egypt as well as Romans and Greeks. They have become common materials for home furniture both indoors and out. The use of rattan has been pervasively used as furniture materials  in many tropic countries and because the are processed from vine-like tropical plants, they exhibit weather proof resilience and strength even when left untreated.

Most garden furniture made of rattan are finished with clear varnish to reveal a naturally tanned or brown coloration.  But there are just as many that have been painted over as they are porous enough to retain paint though in most cases, exposure to the elements will fade those colors.

Whether real wood or rattan, going natural is your best route to furnishing your garden.  While steel, wrought iron, aluminum, resin and synthetics are now common materials for outdoor use, they tend to impart artificiality into your garden.
If you want to complement the natural beauty of your garden, you can’t go wrong with real wood or rattan furnishings
